Rena Summers is Summit’s Proposal Development Manager, and a part of the Business Development team. As such she works alongside Sponsors, CROs, and Summit executive leadership to establish proposals and agreements that are amenable to all parties. Before moving to the Business Development team, Rena led Summit’s Project Management team, including oversight of the Project Managers, Program Managers, Clinical Trial Associates, and Study Start Up team members as well as all phases of operational study conduct. Prior to Summit, Rena was Director of Operations at Pinnacle Clinical Research.

In her 20+ years in the Clinical Research field, she directed a Department of Defense grant researching Trauma Resuscitation and Whole Blood implementation in trauma transport in the Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council Trauma System Area-P. She also managed the Clinical Research Operational Review, the internal review process at Ascension Seton Family of Hospitals, whose approval is required of every research study conducted within the Ascension Seton Network. She began her career in Clinical Research at the global CRO, PPD, for over 6 years in a variety of Project Management support roles. Rena has a Bachelors of Arts in English Language & Literature from the University of Texas at Austin.
